The Church of Brotherly Love was founded in August of 1991. It began as a bible study mission a few months prior in the home of Anthony and Margaret Davis, as he had been ordained to preach the gospel in March of that same year by the late Pastor Daniel Miller of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church. However, Elder Davis knew in his heart that God was calling him into the position of a Pastor. After those first few months of bible study it was evident to Elder Davis that this would not be enough to quench his thirst for God's word.
Elder Davis notified his Pastor of the higher calling that God had placed upon him and the Church of Brotherly Love was started the first Sunday in August of 1991. The Church continued in their home for about 18 months and then moved to its present location at 81 N. Deerfield Avenue in the city of Deerfield Beach.
Pastor and Sister Davis at this time began an all out assault on the devil to take back their neighborhood and make the Church of Brotherly Love a lighthouse for the city of Deerfield. It was their vision to re-establish the church as an intricate part of the community. They wanted the Church of Brotherly Love to set the tone for other churches to follow by becoming involved in every aspect of the community. Their hard work continues and it earned them the award "Citizens of the year" in 1995 from the Broward Sheriffs Office.
Pastor Davis received his Doctorate in Christian Psychology from JTS and Sister Davis received her Bachelor's Degree in Christian Counseling from Revelation Message Bible College. Together they have not only founded the Church of Brotherly Love, but they have also founded The Church of Brotherly Love King's Table Ministry.
The King's Table is an outreach ministry that was birth through Sister Davis. It has rapidly become an intricate ministry in the City of Deerfield Beach. These weekly prevention programs are current in Deerfield High School, Deerfield Middle, Park Ridge Elementary and Cypress Run Educational Center.
